BIO
Randy Rigby is in his eighth season as President of the Utah Jazz and has worked for the NBA franchise for 28 years. As team president, Randy has the privilege of leading one of the most respected and competitive teams in the NBA. On a day-to-day basis, Rigby oversees all basketball operations, ticketing, broadcasting, sponsorship sales, marketing, game operations, and public and community relations. He also an alternate NBA Board of Governor.
Rigby’s vision and direction has resulted in: expanding viewership for Jazz fans of all regular season games to a six state region on high definition broadcasting, creating Utah’s first all-sports radio station, and forming a 20 station intermountain radio network that now includes Jazz games on FM radio; hiring Dennis Lindsey to the basketball front office and expanding more basketball resources and analytics; securing the major broadcasting rights and the naming rights for the EnergySolutions Arena; expansion of internet, social media, and brand marketing vision and initiatives; and the expansion of digital signage, clubs, restaurants, and apparel shops in the EnergySolutions Arena. Rigby leads his team with a philosophy of being passionate, caring and having fun!
Rigby’s previous responsibilities include: chief operating office of the Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment Group (LHMSE) which has since been reorganized into two separate divisions within Larry H. Miller Management Corporation. While overseeing LHMSE, Rigby was responsible for the success of the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, EnergySolutions Arena, Miller Motorsports Park, KJZZ-TV, 1280-The Zone and 97.5FM, All-Star Catering, Fanzz retail apparel stores, and Megaplex Theatres. He also served as chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales and broadcasting and general manager of KJZZ-TV. Rigby came to the Jazz from CFS Financial Corporation where he worked for three years as a senior vice president.
Rigby is a 1979 graduate of Brigham Young University where he earned a degree in business management with a special emphasis in finance and marketing. He serves on various local and international boards.
He and his wife, Sandra, have been married 36 years. They have one son, four daughters, and 10 beautiful grandchildren. The couple resides in Farmington, Utah.
