Hike With a Purpose! Join hundreds of friends and neighbors as we work one day with a single purpose - to clear the park of debris and invasive weeds that harm the park’s wildlife and natural environment. Keep Dimple Dell Wild. Tickets are free but volunteers must register in advance.
All volunteers MUST check in and register at the Wrangler Trailhead located next to Smiths/24 Hour Fitness Gym on 1300 East in Sandy at 9 AM.
We will have a brief into and welcome, then volunteers will be assigned to a team leader and work zone and will be dispatched to an assigned area right from the Wrangler Trailhead. Volunteer groups are welcome. Dogs on leash welcome. Horses and riders who can haul / pack out bags and large items are welcome.
This is a fun, family-friendly all ages event that makes an incredible difference to the health and safety of Dimple Dell Park. Volunteers are asked to come prepared to hike and work. We ask people bring their own bottled water, sunscreen, gloves, and shovel and wear long sleeve shirts, sturdy hiking shoes, and long pants.
This year we are focused on weed eradication and many hands and shovels are needed to pull thistle, Myrtle spurge, and cockleburs which are non-native, invasive weeds that harm the native plants and wildlife in Dimple Dell. The areas we have tackled in the last two years show great improvement and it’s a big job that needs attention every spring. The cleanup is again supported by our partners at Salt Lake County Parks & Rec and Sandy City.
