Summary/Objective - The Quality Control Associate position supports the overall direction of the compliance and correspondence activities of American United FCU by performing, or assisting in the performance of, the primary duties listed below.

As directed by the Internal Auditor
• Assume responsibility for verification of the accuracy and integrity of member account records
• Conduct reviews of the Credit Union’s compliance to policies and procedures in the areas of lending, deposits, new products, etc. 
• Report to the Internal Auditor on any suspect violations of law, regulations or non-compliance to the Credit Union’s policies and procedures
• Keep current on applicable regulatory changes
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes within the regulatory environment and within the Credit Union’s policies and procedures
• Communicate review results with Internal Auditor
• Effective delivery of quality assurance work within designated timeframes
 
Competencies
• Working knowledge of banking laws and regulations
• Effective planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Keyboard and Windows-based applications (Microsoft Office) experience is required
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Exhibit diplomacy, patience, and confidentiality when dealing with co-workers and others
• Ability to work independently
• Obtain an understanding of the Credit Union’s policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in an organized manner
 
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Work Environment This job operates in a credit union. It is a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  
 
Required Education and Experience
• High school graduate or equivalent
• One to two years of related experience
• Experience with the financial services industry, related markets, and related regulatory agencies
• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work. Involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary 
 
Preferred Education and Experience

• Previous financial institution experience
